Mr. Younger

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will introduce legislation to protect purchasers of new houses in the event of a builder going out of business before the houses have been completed.

Mr. Ross

Their main safeguard lies in having a proper contract with the builder, and I am not aware that further legislation is needed.
