§ Mr. George ThomasGrants for unremunerative rail passenger services are112W the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport. The basis of calculation was established by the Joint Steering Group set up by the Minister and the Chairman of the British Railways Board in 1967 and is set out in their report (Cmnd. 3439). The Welsh Council are consulted about all grants for rail passenger services in or of importance to Wales.
