HC Deb 17 February 1970 vol 796 cc70-1W
74. Mr. James Johnson

asked the Minister of Transport what stage he has reached in his discussions with the Humber Bridge Board; and when he estimates that building of the bridge is likely to begin.

Mr. Bob Brown

Discussions between officials of the board and the Department are continuing on the basis of preliminary reports from the board's consultants on design, costs etc., but it is too early yet for firm conclusions to have been reached. I have at present nothing to add to the statement made by my right hon. Friend the then Secretary of State for Economic Affairs on 30th April last about the timing of the project.—[Vol. 782, c. 1437–42.]
