§ Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what steps he is taking to improve recruiting of nurses and midwives and to improve the status and financial position of nursing teachers relative to those working in other fields of education.
§ Mr. CrossmanAs regards recruitment of nurses and midwives, my Department is continuing its Press publicity campaign in support of local effort. The grading and pay of nurse tutors are included in the general review of nurses' pay now being conducted by the nurses and Midwives Whitley Council.
