§ Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will issue a circular recommending that student 25W nurses shall not be left alone in charge of wards at night.
§ Mr. CrossmanThe General Nursing Council recently issued guidance to all training schools on the amount, timing and conditions of night duty for student nurses and this included the statement that no student nurse should be left alone on a ward at night. I shall arrange for my nursing officers to reinforce this guidance in their regular meetings with representatives of senior hospital nursing staff.
