Mr. Frank Allaunasked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications if he will give a general direction to the Post Office to limit the introduction of all-figure telephone numbers, in view of the increased difficulty in remembering them and of dialling them correctly, to exchanges where initials cannot be used.
§ Mr. PentlandI do not think such an action would be appropriate particularly as all-figure numbering is required as the service expands.
