§ Miss Devlinasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what progress has been made with arrangements for financing the Central Housing Authority in Northern Ireland so as to eliminate the housing problem; and if he will make a statement.
353W
§ Mr. William RodgersThe arrangements for financing the Central Housing Authority are the responsibility of the Government of Northern Ireland. I would draw the hon. Lady's attention to that Government's announcement yesterday of a housing programme of 73,500 houses over the next 5 years. Financial backing for this will be provided by the United Kingdom Government.
