§ 61. Mr. Marplesasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will 346W publish a full report of the findings of the inquiry into the near collision of two aircraft over Wallasey on Thursday, 5th February, 1970; and how long he expects the inquiry to take.
§ Mr. Goronwy RobertsThe Air Miss reporting system is based on reports being submitted voluntarily and being treated confidentially. It is therefore not the practice to publish details of particular inquiries since to do so could inhibit the full and frank flow of information on which safety in this field depends.
I should however like to assure the right hon. Member that the incident is being fully investigated and that if any special remedial measures are called for, they will be put in hand without delay and I will inform the right hon. Member.
I cannot yet say when the Air Miss Working Group will complete its consideration.
