§ Mr. Biffenasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the difference in the facilities offered by the Chelsea Hospital for Women for a private room compared with a private cubicle; what is the basis for the differential in charges; and what representations he has received from the hospital authorities to revise these charges.
§ Mr. CrossmanThe cubicles are curtained-off spaces in small wards and are not as fully appointed as the single rooms. They do not count as single rooms for charging purposes but as other accommodation. The charge for single rooms is £11 15s. and for other accommodation £10 15s.
