asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the total number of those entitled to claim diplomatic immunity in the United Kingdom at the present time.

7,219 persons enjoy varying degrees of diplomatic immunity. This figure includes 4,320 members of the staffs of diplomatic missions, 474 persons connected with international organisations and 2,425 wives who share their husbands' immunity. Families forming part of the households of certain officials enjoy similar immunity.
