HC Deb 03 February 1970 vol 795 c96W
Mr. Steele

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what action he proposes to take with regard to the sale of the Royal Naval torpedo factory at Alexandria; and if he proposes to seek the assistance of other Government Departments.

Mr. John Morris

As my hon. Friend is aware from the detailed discussion which I had with him recently when he was accompanied by a delegation from the factory, concerted efforts are now being made by all Departments concerned to bring to the notice of any possible industrial user details of the facilities and skilled labour force which will be available at Alexandria when torpedo production comes to an end.
