Rentonasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what notification he has received from the National Board for Prices and Incomes following its inquiry into complaints made by consumers of water supplied by the Nene and Ouse Water Board; whether he is aware that the board has since 1966 increased its domestic charges by 50 per cent. to 4s. in the £ of rateable value; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Denis HowellThe Prices and Incomes Board has not made any inquiry. I am aware that the water board has increased its domestic water poundage from 2s. to 2s. 6d. in April, 1966 and again to 3s. in April last year but I have no evidence that the board has disregarded the criteria for price increases.
