§ 93 and 94. Mr. Tinnasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) whether he will seek to give greater powers to local authorities to exclude large commercial vehicles from urban roads and streets;
(2) what action he proposes to take to ensure that very heavy and large commercial vehicles are excluded from unsuitable urban roads and streets.
§ Mr. Graham PageTraffic authorities already have adequate powers for this purpose. It is for each authority to use these powers as circumstances and needs require, but in recognition of this fact that if the powers are used there must be alternative parking places, there is a Working Party under the chairmanship of an official of my Department studying the economics of purpose-built lorry parks.
