No information on the number of British students presently studying overseas is available. The number of students from the United Kingdom in receipt of awards from the Department of Education and Science, the Scottish Education Department, the Northern Ireland Ministry of Education and the Research Councils current in autumn 1969 and studying overseas is estimated to be 170. The number of students receiving full-value awards from local education authorities in England and Wales and Northern Ireland current in autumn 1969 and studying overseas is estimated to be 1,954, giving a total estimate of 2,124.
