HC Deb 14 December 1970 vol 808 c230W
75. Mr. Cronin

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how much coal production has been lost as a result of the recent strikes in the coal industry.

Mr. Ridley

The N.C.B.'s estimate of direct loss between 24th October and 21st November is about 2.7 million tons. To this must be added the indirect losses to which my hon. Friend the Minister for Industry referred in the debate on 3rd December.
