asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if lie will publish statistics showing the number of days lost through illness and industrial injury in the United Kingdom with a breakdown by economic planning region.

The only information available relates to days of certified incapacity notified to the Department of Health and Social Security in connection with claims to sickness or injury benefit made in Great Britain. The numbers of such days in the period 3rd June, 1968, to 31st May, 1969, for each of the standard statistical regions were as follows:
