Mr. William Price

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what recent discussions he has had with the Birmingham Regional Hospital Board over the proposed development of St. Cross Hospital, Rugby;

(2) what is the reason for the delay in approving, or otherwise, the Birmingham Regional Hospital Board's £3,800,000 development of St. Cross Hospital, Rugby;

(3) when he expects to approve, or otherwise, the Birmingham Regional Hospital Board's proposed development of the hospital of St. Cross, Rugby.

Mr. Alison

The Birmingham Regional Hospital Board's proposals to redevelop St. Cross Hospital, Rugby, were discussed at a meeting between officers of the Board and the Department on 26th October. Further information is awaited from the Board and when it is received the proposals will be further considered.

Mr. William Price

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he he will pay an official visit to the hospital of St. Cross, Rugby.

I hope to visit St. Cross Hospital in the coming year.
