§ Mr. Blenkinsopasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what increase there has been in the number of improvement grants authorised since the passage of the Housing Act, 1969.
§ Mr. Greenwood:The Act came into operation on 25th August, 1969. For the period September, 1969, to February, 1970, grants approved in England and Wales showed an increase of 5,515 over the corresponding period ended February, 1969; this covers a slight decrease of 351 in grants to local authorities and an increase of 5,866 to private owners.
