§ 40 and 41. Mr. Malcolm MacMillanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) which schools in Hamilton provide instruction in Gaelic, and to what level; 81W how many pupils are receiving such instruction in each of these schools; how the present position compares with 1967; whether he is satisfied that the demand is being fully met; and if he will make a statement;
(2) which schools in Glasgow provide instruction in Gaelic; how this compares with 1967; whether he is satisfied that the provision is adequate to meet the demand for instruction; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Ross:It is for Lanarkshire and Glasgow education authorities respectively to assess the demand for particular subjects.
No schools in Hamilton provided instruction in Gaelic in 1967 or in 1969. So far as Glasgow is concerned, I will circulate the names of the schools in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
