§ Mr. Maurice Macmillanasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in the monthly economic assessment pub- 64W lished by the Treasury, he will show the monthly estimated effect of transactions in goods and services on the total balance of payments, basing it on the estimates produced by the Board of Trade of the valuation and coverage adjustments in each month, so that the monthly figures are consistent with the quarterly figures that are published in Economic Trends.
§ Mr. Taverne:The Press release on the March trade figures shows exports and imports on both a trade accounts and a balance of payments basis. A monthly figure of the services component of invisibles is not available, but a broad estimate of the going rate for the invisible balance as a whole is published in the Press release.
