HC Deb 09 April 1970 vol 799 c109W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will make a further statement on the efforts which have been made and are being made by the police to apprehend train robber Ronald Biggs and to recover the money stolen; what is his estimate of total expenditure from public funds on tracing and catching the robbers, the cost of the trials, and all other costs involved in this case, including visits overseas.

Mr. Elystan Morgan

The police are making every effort to trace this man. It is not possible to estimate the total costs incurred in dealing with the train robbers.
