§ 63. Mr. Milneasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will revise Her Majesty's Government's assessment of the economic advantages of joining the European Economic Community to take account of the present economic state of the European Free Trade Association countries who have not applied for membership of the European Economic Community in the light of the European Free Trade Association report in March, 1969, which showed a rise of 18½ per cent. in European Free 118W Trade Association exports to the European Economic Community.
§ Mrs. Gwyneth DunwoodyNo. I understand that my hon. Friend is referring to the European Free Trade Association report in March, 1970. The latest figures available still show that trade within the Community is growing faster than exports to the Community from E.F.T.A. countries. They provide no grounds for revising the assessment contained in the White Paper.
