§ 57. Mr. Macdonaldasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will seek powers to ensure that every consignment of C.S. exported is accompanied by operating instructions in the language of the country of destination.
§ Mrs. Gwyneth DunwoodyWe have the powers but see no reason to adopt my hon. Friend's proposal if, by operating instructions, he means instructions as to the circumstances and quantities in which C.S. equipment should be used. This method of riot control has been practised for many years in a large number of countries, and we are advised that the procedures are well known.
§ Mr. Macdonaldasked the President of the Board of Trade what is the value of C.S. exports in 1969 to the latest convenient date; and by how much this amount exceeds or falls short of the comparable amount in 1968.
§ Mrs. Gwyneth DunwoodyC.S. gas is not separately distinguished in the trade statistics.
