Sir R. Russellif heasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science will set up a special department or group of the Medical Research Council to plan the development and extension of the use of alternative methods of research, so as to reduce the number of experiments on living animals.
§ Mr. Edward ShortThe organisation of the various aspects of their research is a matter for the scientific judgment of the Medical Research Council. who are already supporting, in several of their research establishments, work aimed at the development of methods which may provide alternatives to the use of animals.
