§ Sir B. Rhys Williamsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will facilitate the analysis of the redistributive effect of central government spending and revenue-raising operations as they directly affected individuals in 1968–69 by publishing a short table detailing central government receipts through direct taxes and insurance contributions and expenditure on health, education, National Insurance benefits, housing and food subsidies, family allowances and other social benefits in cash and kind.
