§ 40. Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will take steps to prevent solicitors, estate agents and others from charging six guineas or more for the National House Builders Registration Council's certificate for which the proper charge is 1s.; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MacCollThe Council's rules enable them to deal effectively with the few cases of this sort brought to their notice which involve builders and those acting for them. My right hon. Friend does not consider, therefore, that any steps on his part are necessary, but the Council knows that it has his support in this matter.
