asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what recommendations he has made to local authorities concerning the need for building specialised accommodation for the disabled; and what subsidies are available for this purpose.

Mr. MacColl

The Ministry drew the attention of local authorities to the housing requirements of the disabled in a circular issued in 1964. Authorities receive a higher subsidy if they have to incur extra costs in providing specially designed housing for them.
