§ Mr. WhitlockMy right hon. Friend's consent is not normally required where former members of the Diplomatic Service take up employment after resignation or retirement with private firms where there is no connection between those firms and Her Majesty's Government and where the former member of the Service has not had access to technical information which might be regarded by the new employer's competitors as their own trade secrets.
