40. Mr. Shinwell

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will seek to appoint a tribunal to arbitrate in disputes, other than on salary matters, between teachers' organisations Lind education authorities.

Facilities for conciliation and arbitration are already available to local education authorities and teachers' organisations. I hope very much that they will be used where the parties cannot come to terms on their own.
