§ Mr. Wrightasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans he has to introduce legislation to change the divorce laws in Scotland.
§ Mr. RossAs I indicated in reply to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Aberdeen, South (Mr. Dewar) on 6th December, 1967, this has never been thought a suitable subject for Government legislation. The Government are however, prepared to consider a request for drafting assistance, should an hon. Member wish to introduce a Bill to reform the divorce law in Scotland on lines which appear likely to be generally acceptable.—[Vol. 755, c. 1420–21.]
