§ Mr. Malcolm MacMillanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many crofts were taken outwith crofting tenure, on the initiative of the tenant, in each of the last four years, in each of the islands of Barra, South Uist, Benbecula, North Uist, Harris and Lewis, giving separately, where possible, the number in each of the smaller islands of Vatersay, Eriskay, Grimsay, Baleshare, Beneray, Scalpay, Scarp and Bernera, Lewis.
§ Mr. RossApplications to have crofts taken out of crofting tenure are made to me, by landlords, under Section 16(9) of the Crofters (Scotland) Act, 1955.
The following two changes of tenure were directed by me in the areas and years specified as a result of applications by landlords:
- 1965—Lewis—Part of a croft.
- 1967—South Uist—Part of a croft.
