Special Housing Association (Rent Policy)

Mr. Buchanan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what instruction has been given to the Scottish Special Housing Association by his Department, in regard to its rent policy.

Mr. Ross

None, but I expect the Association in its rent and rebate policy to ensure that no tenant suffers hardship, and at the same time to avoid making unreasonable demands on the taxpayers.
