§ 55. Mr. Boyd-Carpenterasked the President of the Board of Trade which foreign airlines employ in their aircraft using London Airport jet fuels of types whose character render them more dangerous in the event of accident than the fuels employed by the British Overseas Airways Corporation; and what action he proposes to take to protect British passengers in such aircraft and other users of the airport from the dangers arising from the use of such fuels.
§ Mr. William RodgersI understand that Air Canada and Japan Airlines use wide-cut gasoline which we believe can in some crash conditions involve a greater fire hazard than the aviation kerosene used by B.O.A.C. and other operators. These airlines and the Governments concerned are aware of our views and we shall continue to make them clear in I.C.A.O.
