HC Deb 12 February 1969 vol 777 c324W
76. Mr. Wingfield Digby

asked the President of the Board of Trade what discussions he has had with British airlines about measures to prevent hi-jacking of aircraft with its consequent risks to the safety of British aircraft; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. William Rodgers

B.O.A.C. have passed to us a number of suggestions formulated by the International Air Transport Association (I.A.T.A.), about action which might be taken by the airlines themselves, by airport authorities and by Governments. We are examining these and also making a full contribution to the urgent work which the International Civil Aviation Organisation is undertaking.
