HC Deb 12 February 1969 vol 777 c324W
77. Mr. David Griffiths

asked the President of the Board of Trade what progress has been made by the Commission on Stansted and the siting of a new London airport; and to what extent the Commission has considered the proposal put before it that the proposed airport should be sited on reclaimed land at Foulness.

Mr. Crosland

The Roskill Commission on the third London Airport has been studying a wide range of sites—including reclaimed land at Foulness—and hopes to announce before Easter a short list of the sites which it regards as worthy of more detailed examination.
