Mr. Milne

asked the Minister of Transport if he will refer to the Road Research Laboratory the matter of the extent to which road safety is affected by television advertising.

Mr. Marsh

The Road Research Laboratory is already working on surveys to measure the effects of the Ministry's road safety campaign.

The campaign combines television, Press and poster advertising, and it may not, therefore, be possible to isolate and measure precisely the effects of television advertising only.
