asked the Minister of Transport whether he will now give details of the amount of extra grants which each local authority in the West Country will receive to help in the repair of roads and bridges following flood damage last July.

Extra grants from my Ministry to local authorities in the West Country are given below. They relate to damage on principal roads in cases where it has been decided to carry out improvements instead of basic reinstatement. The full cost of all repairs and improvements on trunk roads will also be borne by this Ministry.
