HC Deb 03 February 1969 vol 777 cc9-10W
Mr. Leadbitter

asked the Minister of Transport (1) what information he obtained about the total passenger loads at Sunderland and Hartlepool on the Sunderland-Hartlepool-King's Cross through service for each of the past five years before reaching his decision to approve closure of these lines;

(2) what information he obtained about the revenue to British Railways from the Sunderland-Hartlepool-King's Cross through service for the morning and evening journeys, respectively, for each of the past five years, before approving the closure of these lines.

Mr. Marsh

The Railways Board have not proposed these lines for closure, and there is, therefore, no question of my giving my approval.
