§ Mr. MarshThe joint publication by the Ministry and the Railways Board of the British Railways Network for Development Map in March, 1967, gave the Board freedom to publish closure proposals under Section 56 of the Transport Act, 1962, in respect of passenger services running on lines shown as grey and thin black on that map without seeking further Ministerial agreement. Section 39 of the Transport Act, 1968, has also necessarily involved some changes in the procedures for non-statutory prior consultation. It is, therefore, not possible to bring the 1966 information up to date in its original form, but I will write to the hon. Member more fully on the subject.
