HC Deb 03 February 1969 vol 777 c51W
Mr. Lane

asked the Minister of Power how many industrial users of electricity, in each area and in total, have agreed to special tariffs which either limit demands and involve load control, or limit demands at times of peak usage, or both and what extra generating capacity can be saved in times of emergency through such tariffs.

Mr. Freeson

Any estimate would be arbitrary since boards offer a wide range of tariffs which offer inducements to restrict demands during peak periods.
