HC Deb 21 April 1969 vol 782 c38W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what commitments Her Majesty's Government have made to purchase United States and Canadian wheat at a stated price; and what is the agreed price per bushel.

Mr. Hoy

Her Majesty's Government have no commitment to buy Canadian and United States wheats at a stated price. However, Canada and the U.S.A., as exporting members of the International Wheat Convention, have undertaken to make their wheats available to importing members, who include the United Kingdom, at prices consistent with the price range laid down in the Convention. For Canadian and United States wheats this range is the equivalent of the following f.o.b. prices at U.S. Gulf ports:

Minimum price per bushel Maximum price per bushel
