§ Mr. Oakesasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, if he will make a statement on the discussions he has held with exporters to South America and in particular the British National Export Council on the effects of restricting the imports of beef from Argentina and Uruguay.
§ Mr. HoyMy right hon. Friend recently met the chairman and several members of the British National Export Council on their return from an export 39W promotion mission to South America, and they gave him their views about the possible effects of changes in our existing regime for imports of beef from South America. He has assured them that their views, as well as those of other interested parties, will be taken fully into account in any Government decisions on this question.
