asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what was the number of totally unemployed to the nearest date on 20th July, 1966; and what is the latest figure available.

The numbers of persons registered as wholly unemployed in Great Britain at 11th July, 1966 and 10th March, 1969, were 258,233 and 566,053, respectively.
