§ Mr. BuchanIn the main potato growing areas over half the acreage has now been lifted. The Scottish National Farmers' Union has expressed its concern at the lateness of the harvest. The Scottish Potato Trade Executive has represented that children be granted exemptions from school in certain areas, but this has not been possible since 1962. I am keeping in daily touch with the harvesting position as it develops.
