HC Deb 04 November 1968 vol 772 cc12-3W
56. Sir H. Lucas-Tooth

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services why he is requiring general practitioners to attend a minimum number of post graduate sessions per annum before they are entitled to seniority payments.

Mr. Ennals

This was agreed in principle with the representatives of the profession during the discussions on the new system of remuneration. Despite recent doubts expressed on behalf of the profession, I am convinced that implementation of the original agreement will be to the advantage of general practitioners and patients alike.
