§ Mr. Hobdenasked the Minister of Transport why delay is occurring in completion of certain parts of the recently widened Lewes Road, Brighton; and when it is now anticipated that work on the whole scheme will be completed.
Mr. Bob BrownThis scheme is the responsibility of Brighton County Borough Council as the highway authority. The roadworks were started in April, 1967, on an 18 month contract and we understand they will be completed on time in October next.
British Railways began work on the bridge spanning the road in April this year on a 12 month contract.
