§ 96. Mr. John Lee
asked the President of the Board of Trade what estimate he has made of the value of development grants that have been paid out since 1964 to 303W public companies whose accounts showed at the time of the receipt of their grants that their profits for the year, distributed and undistributed, were themselves adequate to carry out the work for which the grants were made.
§ Mr. Darling
I assume my hon. Friend is referring to grants under the Local Employment Acts. These Acts do not require grants to be subject to this kind of assessment, and it would involve a disproportionate amount of time and effort to attempt this analysis.
