Whether consideration has been given to a recent paper (Gunn, A., 1967 British Medical Journal, Vol. 3, p. 764) showing the danger still existing in electric radiant fires despite the fitting of fire guards as provided by law; and whether they have any proposals for amendment of the law in this regard.
§ THE MINISTER OF STATE, HOME OFFICE (LORD STONHAM)The Heating Appliances (Fireguards) Regulations 1953 are based on British Standard 1945. Following Mr. Gunn's findings this Standard is under review and the nerd for amending Regulations will be considered in the light of the result.
