asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether Her Majesty's Government will ratify the United Nations Covenants on Human Rights.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

Her Majesty's Government are still considering signature and ratification of these instruments. I hope to be able to announce a decision during Human Rights Year.
