Friend is considering the report of the Committee on Statutory Maintenance Limits (Cmnd. 3587) which was published on 4th April, and which includes the recommendation that the financial limits prescribed by statute for orders which may be made in magistrates' courts for maintenance of wives and children should be abolished.
